A notion from antiquity carried over to modern astrology where stars appear to have a fixed position within the zodiac while planets wander through the signs. While some things always come and go, there seems to be a fixed star in our core that can only get brighter.
The silk was dyed in my indigo vat to a lustrous darkish blue, pleated and smocked with bright gold thread in the shape of a six-pointed star. The points are accented with small sparkling beads in the same colour.
The chain is decorated with two faceted glass beads in deep red and closes with a handmade hook clasp. All metal is antiqued sterling silver.
Size: the pendant is 6 cm (2 inches) in diameter and the chain measures 51 cm (20 inches).
As with all textiles, storing the necklace out of direct sunlight is recommended to keep it at its best.
