This bracelet is made from a silver chain interwoven with silk cord.
It was dyed by binding places and overlapping them for different dye baths, somewhat like ikat or space dyeing. The result is a muted, autumn rainbow telling a colour story.
The thread of the story winds its way through the links of the chain, following the ins and outs, the twists and turns of the plot. Eventually it arrives back where it started with the experience of having been to the other side.
The ends of the cord have been combed into soft tassels and the handmade hook clasp embellished with a nugget of teal-coloured turquoise.
All metal is antiqued sterling silver.
Size: the bracelet is 18 cm (just shy of 7 inches) long. It fits best on a wrist of about 17 cm (under 7 inches). If you'd like a different size, please drop me a line.
As with all textiles, storing the bracelet out of direct sunlight is recommended to keep it at its best but if you always keep it on it should wear like a favourite pair of jeans.
